Arsenal ‘eye defender Kostas Manolas as Thomas Vermaelen replacement’

The Gunners are prepared to lose club captain Vermaelen, with his 
contract running out and Manchester United offering £10million for his 
services.<br />
<br />

However, the Belgians exit would leave Arsenal with just two senior 
centre backs in Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny, and Arsene Wenger
 is eyeing Manolas.<br />
<br />

The 6’1” centre back has enjoyed a superb season with Olympiacos and 
earned plenty of plaudits during the World Cup for his dominant 
performances.<br />
<br />

He is rated at about £8million but Arsenal would face competition 
from Juventus for his signature with the Italian side known to be keen.<br />

The Barcelona playerer, who has refused to be part of a possible 
package deal which could take Luis Suarez to Spain, remains a key target
 for Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers.<br />

However, Arsenal are in the driving seat for his signature, with the 
winger preferring a switch to London, but Liverpool aren’t keeping their tabs off.<br />
<br />

According to Catalan newspaper AS, Liverpool could offer Sanchez a 
giant contract worth £150,000-a-week if he changed his mind and wanted 
to move to the Merseyside club.<br />

Sanchez is currently on about £75,000-a-week at Barca, and while 
Arsenal have privately promised to go up to £135,000-a-week for the 
Chilean, they wouldn’t beat Liverpool’s offer.<br />
<br />

The news comes amid talk that Barca are trying to hurry through the 
sale of Sanchez in order to have funds ready for their proposed signing 
of Luis Suarez.<br />

The Gunners have been in advanced negotiations for Sanchez in the last few days, but are yet to agree on a fee with Barca.<br />

However, Spanish newspaper Vozpopuli, who broke the news of Arsenal’s interest in Sanchez, says a deal is getting close.<br />
<br />

Barca chiefs want to offload the 25-year-old as soon as possible in order to raise funds for their £63million deal for Suarez.<br />
<br />
Liverpool are believed to have initially accepted their bid for the Uruguay striker, but a payment plan has not been finalised.<br />
<br />

The Reds want the cash up front but Barca can’t do that unless they can move Sanchez on quickly.<br />
<br />

Arsenal’s opening £19.8million bid for Sanchez is still on the table,
 but Barca are keen to get a fee of about £26million for the Chilean.<br />
<br />

Further negotiations are expected to take place over the weekend in a bid to find an agreement that everybody is happy with.<br />

Debuchy has been linked with a switch to north London for the last few days with the club in need of a new right-back following Bacary Sagna’s exit to Manchester City.<br />

And after reports emerged that Arsenal have had a £7.9million bid accepted for the player by Newcastle, the 28-year-old has confirmed he will be moving to the Emirates Stadium.<br />

Monaco are cash rich and are under no immediate pressure to sell, but

could significantly adjust their balance sheet with this deal.<br />

Any move would likely depend on whether Rodriguez tries to force a

Michu has spent two seasons in South Wales. In the first of those, he 
proved a revelation, scoring 18 Premier League goals in helping Swansea 
to their first top half finish in the Premier League. Last time around, 
however, he was left frustrated by persistent injury problems and was

for Michu over recent weeks and months, but Napoli appear to be in pole

Just
 yesterday we were touting The Saints midfielder for a move to Arsenal. 
He’s got the sort of technique which Wenger appreciates but also has the
 physicality to impose himself on games. He could turn out to be a gem 
for that midfield engine room.<br />
As for Sanchez, well we have all 
seen the impact that he has had on The World Cup. He’s been easily one 
of the stand out performers and his goal against Brazil took the game to
 extra time and penalties on Saturday.<br />
He’s got pace to burn and 
offers great quality from the wide areas. But,as we have seen in Brazil,
 he can also play in more central areas of the pitch to superb effect, 
where he gets more involved in the action.<br />
There is very little 
not to like about Sanchez and Arsenal won’t be the only club that tracks
 him this summer. But if they can do a deal it will surely one of the 
best of the window.<br />
